• Open the UCSC genome browser (May 2004 data) and go to chromosome 3. Look at the region between bases

• For which protein does it code?
• What genetic disorder is it associated with?
• Who discovered* this genetic disorder? and when?
• How many introns and exons does it have?

* (NOTE: The gene in this region was the very first human genetic disorder ever discovered. You can look it up! For extra credit, find the name of the person who discovered it, and the year of his discovery)
