Fact # 5) Isn't the Sequence Done?

•Nope. The sequence is still filled with gaps and missing segments, and many of these are shown clearly in genome browser tools. For example, take a look at this portion of Chromosome 9, as visualized by the UCSC Genome Browser (The missing segments are clearly visible as "Gaps," which I have circled in red to make them more apparent):

This is one of the principal reasons why an exact count of the number of human genes will not be available for some time.
